CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup shortening
• 1/2 cup cold butter
• 1 cup brown sugar, packed
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 2 teaspoons vanilla
• 2 eggs
• 2 1/2 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon soda
• dash of salt
• 3 cups chocolate chips
• 1 cup chopped pecans

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream shortening and butter, sugars, and vanilla. Beat in eggs. Combine flour, soda, and salt. Add to mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Chill dough. Drop by rounded teaspoon onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake about 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from oven and cool 1 minute before removing cookies to wire rack.
