Ingredients
- dough:
- 6 c flour
- 2 tsp soda
- 2 c shortening
- 2 c sugar
- 1 c brown sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 T water
- 2 t vanilla
- 1 tsp salt
- filling:
- 1 c ground raisins
- 1 c ground dates
- 3/4 c sugar
- 2 tsp flour
- 1 c water
- add:
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 c nuts

Step 1
chill dough. divide into 4 rolls and freeze. slice dough. put 1/2 tsp filling on a slice. bake for 12-15 min.
filling: cook. stirring constantly over low heat until thick. add vanilla and nuts.
