Ingredients

  • 1-1/4 cups flour
  • 6 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 10 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup chocolate sprinkles
  • 36 mini red hots
  • 72 mini pretzel sticks, snapped in half

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. Line two baking sheets with parchment.
3. Whisk together flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt.
4. Cream butter and sugar with an electric mixer until fluffy, about 2 to 3 minutes.
5. Beat in egg and vanilla until smooth.
6. Beat in flour mixture.
7. Roll a teaspoon of dough into a ball.
8. Roll ball in sprinkles.
9. Repeat with remaining dough.
10. Press balls onto baking sheet and press lightly to flatten.
11. Please to red hots on one end of each ball.
12. Place 4 mini pretzels on each side of ball.
13. Bake until dry on top, about 12 minutes.
14. Let cool on sheets on wire rack.
