Marie's Heavenly Homemade Biscuits

Ingredients

• 2 c. all-purpose flour
• 1 scant tsp. salt
• 3 tsp. baking powder
• 1/4 shortening
• Buttermilk

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 500 degrees. Sift together dry ingredients. Cut in shortening until mixture is crumbly. Stir in enough buttermilk to create a slightly gooey dough. Flour a work surface. Roll out dough 1/2 inch thick. Cut biscuits with a floured biscuit cutter or small drinking glass. Place on baking sheet. Bake 5 minutes, or until golden brown.
