Jumbo Raisin Cookies

Ingredients

• 1 cup water
• 2 cups raisins
• 1 cup shortening
• 2 cups sugar
• 3 eggs
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 4 cups flour
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 1 tsp salt
• 1/4 tsp nutmeg
• 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
• 1/4 tsp allspice

Preparation

Step 1

Boil water and raisins together for 5 minutes. Set aside to cool.

Cream together shortneing and sugar. Beat in eggs and cream well. Add vanilla. Stir in raisins with the remaining liquid. Add the remaining dry ingredients to the first mixture. Drop by spoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake 10-15 minutes in a 350 degree oven.
