Ingredients
- 5 cups flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup Crisco
- 1 package yeast
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 Tablespoons warm water
- 2 cups buttermilk
Details
Cooking time 15mins
Preparation
Step 1
Mix warm water with yeast. Dissolve.
Add sugar and buttermilk
Sift together flour, salt, soda, baking powder
Work in shortening
Add yeast mixture and mix as old-time biscuits (with hands)
Store in tightly covered container and refrigerate. Do not freeze. (Will keep 2 weeks)
To Use:
Remove desired amount as needed and roll dough thin and cut.
Cook at 400*
