Spice Cake

Ingredients

• 2 1/4 cups flour
• 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• 1/2 tsp cloves
• 1/2 tsp nutmeg
• 1 cup buttermilk
• 1/2 cup shortening
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 3 eggs
• 1/2 cup raisens

Preparation

Step 1

Combine dry ingredients. Add buttermilk, shortening, vanilla, and eggs. Attach bowl and flat beater.
Mix on speed 2 for about a minute. Stop and scrape bowl. Turn to speed 4 and beat about 30 sec. Turn to stir speed and add raisens, mix til just blended

Pour batter into greased 13x9 pan. Bake 350 for 35-40 min.
