  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp light corn syrup
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Place sugar, cream of tatar, salt, water and corn syrup in saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat until sugar is dissolved, forming syrup.

Place egg whites in mixer bowl. Attach wire whip. Turn to speed 10 and whip until whites begin to hold shape. Continuing on speed 10 slowly pour hot syrup into egg whites. Whip 1 1/2 min. Add vanilla and whip 5 min longer or until frosting stands in stiff peaks. frost cake immediately
