Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 4 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 teaspoon cream of tarter
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 egg beaten
- 1 cup milk or butter milk

Preparation
Step 1
in a bowl combine the flours, baking powder, sugar and cream of tarter
cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal
add egg and milk stirring quickley and briefly
knead lightly on floured board
roll or pat gently to 1 inch thickness
cut into 1 to 2 inch biscuits
place in a greased 10 inch iron skillet or on a 9 inch square pan
bake for 12 to 15 minutes
