Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup (or less) brown sugar
  • 1 lost French bread, cut into thick slices
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped

Step 1

In small saucepan, combine corn syrup, butter and brown sugar and simmer until syrupy. Pour into bottom of 9" x 13" pan. Sprinkle chopped pecans over sugar mixture. Place bread on top. In a bowl, beat eggs, milk, vanilla and salt. Pour over bread. Cover and refrigerate
overnight. Preheat oven to 350F and bake for 45 minutes.
