Mussels and Clams (Deb's recipe)

Ingredients

  • 4 fresh b sail leaves chopped
  • 1 T. chopped garlic
  • 3/4 tsp. crushed red chill pepper
  • 2 T. Olive Oil
  • 1/4 c white wine
  • 1 c Italian tomato sauce
  • 3 c chicken broth
  • 1 T. Seasoning Salt
  • 1 T butter
  • Fresh Parsley
  • 48 mussels and clams

Preparation

Step 1

In a large pot: sauté fresh basil, garlic, chilies and onion in oil on high for a few minutes. Add wine and tomato sauce and broth and salt, boil. Drop in mussels and clams and steam for 3-5 minutes watching carefully not to overcook. Add butter and parsley and serve with fresh bread.
