Dad's Remarkable Fudge

My dad is my greatest inspiration and he has made this fudge every Christmas, for decades. I am so thankful that he passed this along to me.

Ingredients
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 5-1/3 oz can evaporated milk (2/3 cup)
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 12 oz package semisweet chocolate pieces (2 cups)
- 1 7 oz jar marshmallow creme
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- Yields 2 1/2 pounds of candy

Step 1
In a 2-quart bowl, combine the sugar and evaporated milk. Add the butter. Cook, uncovered on High, 5 minutes, until the mixture comes to a full rolling boil, stirring twice.
Reduce heat to medium and cook for 6 minutes, stirring twice.
Stir in chocolate pieces until melted. Add the marshmallow creme, vanilla and walnuts. Stir until well combined.
Pour into a buttered 9x9x2 inch baking pan. Cool. Cut into squares.
