Ingredients
- Batter:
- 2 large shoulder butt pork steaks
- Cooking oil
- Batter for deep frying
- Sweet & Sour Sauce
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tsp. salad oil
- Sweet & Sour Sauce:
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 14 oz. can pineapple tidbits, drained (reserve liquid)
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 2 tbsp. ketchup

Preparation
Step 1
Cut pork into bite sized pieces.
Mix together batter ingredients and beat til smooth. Dip meat in batter and deep fry in wok over high heat. Drain; keep warm.
In saucepan, mix sugar and cornstarch. Add enough water to pineapple juice to make 1 cup. Stir juice, vinegar and ketchup into cornstarch mix. Heat over medium heat and stir until thickened and boiling. Stir in pineapple.
Stir meat into sweet & sour sauce and serve hot.
Can be made ahead and reheated.
