Ingredients

  • 3/4 c brown sugar
  • 1 tsp rootbeer extract
  • 1/2 c soft margarine
  • almost 2 c flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 c buttermilk
  • 1/2 tsp salt.
  • Buttermilk: Add 2 tsp vinegar for each cup of milk

Step 1

Mix in order given; drop by spoonful on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 350, 10-12. Cool.
Icing: 2 c 10X sugar, 1/3 c softened butter, 1 ½ tsp rootbeer extract, 2 T hot water
