Ingredients
- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup warm water (110 degrees)
- 1 c. flour
- 1 c. milk
- 1 c. warm mil (110 degrees)

Preparation
Step 1
In small bowl soften yeast in water for about 10 minutes. Stir well. In a 2 quart glass, plastic bag, or ceramic container. Combine flour and sugar. Mix thoroughly or the flour will lump when milk is added. Slowly stir in warm milk and softened yeast mixture. Cover loosely and let stand at room temperature until bubbly.
Consider this Day 1 of a 10 day cycle.
Day 1 Do nothing
Day 2 Mush bag 2x per day
Day 3 Mush bag 2x per day
Day 4 Mush bag 2x per day
Day 5 Mush bag 2x per day
Day 6 Add the following:
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
Day 7 Mush bag 2x per day
Day 8 Mush bag 2x per day
Day 9 Mush bag 2x per day
Day 10 Squeeze the contents of bag into a large bowl. Add the following:
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
Stir well, then measure out four (4) 1 cup starters into large ziploc bags. Give bag and copy of instructions to others to enjoy.
NOTE: Starter can be frozen in plastic bag. If using frozen starter, let thaw on counter overnight. Day 1 starts next day.
