Kiss Me Cookies

Red cookies with a kiss -- a chocolate kiss! These are great cookies to make for Valentines Day or any day you want to show your love.

Ingredients

• 1 cup butter, softened
• 1 cup of powdered sugar
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 2 teaspoons maraschino cherry juice
• 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
• 6 drops of red food coloring
• 2 1/4 cups of all purpose flour
• 1/2 cup chopped maraschino cherries
• Approximately 50 Hershey Kiss candies

Preparation

Step 1

in a large bowl beat your butter, powdered sugar, and salt until well blended. Add in cherry juice, almond extract and food coloring. Gradually beat in flour. Stir in cherries.

Shape into 1 inch balls. Place 1 inch apart on a greased baking sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until bottoms are light brown. Immediately press a chocolate kiss into center of each cookie. The cookie will crack around the edges. Cool on pan for 2 minutes then move to a cooling rack.
