Ingredients

  • For the sauce:
  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 4 T. warm water
  • 1 c. milk
  • 4 T. butter
  • 2 T. sugar
  • 1 t. salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 6-8 cups flour
  • 1-2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 large cabbage, shredded
  • Salt, pepper & garlic salt to taste
  • 2 T. mustard
  • 1 T. Horseradish sauce
  • 1/4 c. sweet pickle relish
  • 3 T. mayonnaise
  • 2 T. ketchup
  • 1/4 t. tobasco sauce

Preparation

Step 1

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Scald milk, then add butter, sugar & salt. Cool to lukewarm. Add yeast mixture.

Add eggs, mix well. Add in 4 cups flour & beat well. Add more flour until stiff dough forms. Let rise till double.

Meanwhile, cook beef & onion till done, but not too browned. Place cabbage in small amount of water & boil 10-15 minutes. Drain well.

Add cabbage to meat, then add seasonings to taste.

Roll out dough very thin. Cut into 5-inch squares. Place filling onto each square & fold up to seal. Let rise again till double.

Bake at 400 till browned.

Mix all ingredients together for the sauce & serve.
