Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. boiling water over 2 c. raisins
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 3/4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. nuts

Preparation

Step 1

Pour boiling water over raisins and allow to sit.

Cream butter and sugar together and then add egg and vanilla. Add butter mixture to raisin mixture and cream well.

Slowly add flour, baking powder, soda and salt to above mixture. Stir in nuts.

Pour batter into a 9 x 5 bread pan bake 350 degrees for 1 hour or 1 hour 10 minutes.
