Ingredients
- 1 (18.25 oz) box chocolate cake mix
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted, plus more for the pan
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, at room temp
- 3 1/2 TBS cocoa powder
- 1 (16 oz) box confectioners' sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup chopped unsalted nuts

Heat oven to 350. Lightly butter a 9x13-inch baking pan.
In a large bowl, combine cake mix, 1 egg and 1/2 cup of the melted butter. Stir until well blended. Pat the mixture into the pan and set aside.
Beat the cream cheese til smooth. Add remaining 2 eggs and cocoa powder and beat til well mixed. Reduce speed to low and add the confectioners' sugar. Beat til well mixed. Slowly add the remaining 1/2 cup melted butter and vanilla. Beat til smooth. Stir in the nuts. Spread the filling over the batter in the pan.
Bake for 40 to 50 minutes. Don't overcook: the center should still be a little gooey. Let cool before slicing.
