I’m a candy bar lover, there’s no secret about that. I also adore peanut butter cookies, so adding a little chocolate candy bar to said cookie is a truly delicious combination. These are great for the holidays and perfect for impressing friends and relatives!
While I think topping a peanut butter cookie is quite yummy, I’ll be honest, seeing some of the desserts that are stuffed with other desserts don’t look very appetizing to me. An Oreo cookie is amazing on its own, as is a chocolate chip cookie. But there’s something about baking an Oreo inside of a chocolate chip cookie that makes my stomach feel weird. I think they are two completely different types of cookies, so putting them together just seems like flavor overload and something would get lost in the translation. Maybe it’s just me.
But I don’t feel that way about these. These are spectacular. Just the right amount of pizazz to add to a plain peanut butter cookie. I hope you like them!
Roll gently in your hands and add 1 ball to each muffin cup.
Grease a mini-muffin pan and preheat the oven to 325 F.
In a large mixing bowl beat together butter, peanut butter, white sugar and brown sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla.
In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add flour mixture to the sugar mixture.
Use a cookie scoop to measure out 1-inch dough balls. Roll gently in your hands and add 1 ball to each muffin cup.
Bake in preheated oven for 11 minutes. Remove from oven and gently push a piece of candy into each cookie cup. Bake for another 4 minutes, or until light golden brown and surface of candies are beginning to melt.
Yum yum yum! Love these kind of cookies. Can’t wait to make some.
