Ingredients

  • Pour 1 (1 1/2) c boiling water over 1 (1 1/2) c chopped dates and add 1 tsp soda. Let stand while the following is mixed together:
  • 1 c sugar (1 1/2)
  • 1 tsp vanilla (1 1/2)
  • 1/4 c butter (3/8)
  • 1/3 tsp salt (1/2)
  • 1 egg, beaten (2)
  • 1/2 c chopped nuts (3/4)
  • 1 1/2 c flour (2 1/4)
