Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 350* degrees. In mixing bowl combine together butter and sugar and blend until creamed together.
2. Add in vanilla and salt- combine.
3. Add flour and mix for 30 seconds, then add the finely chopped walnuts and mix together for another 3 minutes until combined. The dough is a "thick" dough.
4. Take dough and roll into 1 inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the bottom of cookie is lightly golden brown. I will take cookie sheet out after 10 minutes and lift cookie up to check the bottom. Golden brown makes the cookie perfect- I continue to do this every 2 minutes to ensure they do not over cook.
5. Allow cookies to cool completely (I place outside in cold weather). Place additional powdered sugar in plastic bad and doing about 4-5 cookies at a time- place into bag- and fill with air- grab tight the top like a balloon- and gently shake cookies in bake to coat with powdered sugar-place on cookie plate. After all cookies are done- take remaining sugar and sift over cookies. Enjoy!!!
