Ingredients
- 1 c. butter
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 whole egg
- 2 c. flour
- Flavoring: either 3/4 tsp. cardamon or 1/2 tsp. almond extract

Step 1
Cream butter and sugar. Stir in unbeaten egg and flavoring (extract or cardamon). Add flour mix thoroughly. It will be fairly stiff. It will handle better if it is chilled for several hours. Press small ball of dough in bottom of the pan that has been greased; and work dough upward toward the top edges. Press fairly thin. Avoid a thick layer in the bottom. Thumb maybe floured lightly.
Bake in 350 degree oven for about 12-15 minutes. They should be lightly browned. Cool a short time. Loosen from pan, turn upside down and tap gently to remove.
Note: small metal pans with various shapes/designs can be found at kitchen stores.
