  • For the Chocolate Fudge
  • 2 cups dark chocolate chips
  • 1 can ready made chocolate fudge frosting (16 oz. can)
  • 1 Tablespoon butter
  • For the Peppermint Topping
  • 2 1/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup marshmallow cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 2 Tablespoons water
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 teaspoon shortening
  • sprinkles

Preparation

Step 1

Place the dark chocolate chips and butter in a microwave safe bowl. Heat for 30 seconds. Stir and repeat. Heat for 15 seconds and stir until completely melted and creamy. Take the lid and foil liner off the canned frosting. Heat in the microwave for 1 minute. Stir and pour into the melted chocolate chips. Stir until completely mixed. Pour into an 8x8 pan that has been lined with parchment paper. Let set for an hour.
Mix together the powdered sugar, butter, marshmallow cream, extract, and water. Beat until a soft candy forms. Press the mixture evenly over the top of the fudge. Let set again. Cut into 36 squares.
Place the chocolate chips and shortening in a microwave safe bowl. Heat for 30 seconds and stir. Repeat. Spoon into a plastic baggie with one tip cut off. Drizzle a little bit on each square and top with sprinkles. Store in a sealed container on the counter or place in an air tight container and freeze until needed.
