  • 1 lb butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • pinch of cinnamon
  • 1 tsp cold water
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup sliced almonds
  • chocolate chips



Step 1

Grind almonds
Combine butte and sugar in heavy sauce pan
Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently until mixture reaches rolling boil
Add cinnamon and water
Bring mixture to hard crack stage, 300 degrees on candy thermometer, stirring a lot
Remove from heat, add vanilla and almonds
Pour into jelly roll pan and cool completely
Melt chocolate and spread on top of toffee, sprinkle with crushed almonds, pat down
Once chocolate is hard, turn over and repeat on the other side
