Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 2 - 16 oz cans kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 - 14 1/2 oz can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 - 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • 2 onions,chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper,chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • cayenne pepper to taste (1/4 tsp used)
  • shredded chedder cheese
  • Kathy uses twice the amount of burger, changes the beans up for black beans and adds corn.

Step 1

Cook ground beef in a skillet until browned, drain off fat.

Pour into a slow cooker.

Add the next nine ingredients.

Cover and cook for 6 to 8 hours on low.

Ladle chili into individual bowls and sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
