Jewel Brooch Cookies (Don Mom)

Ingredients

• 1 cup + 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
• 1/3 cup sugar
• 1/2 cup butter, softened
• 1 egg yolk
• 1/2 tsp. vanilla
• Garnish (jam, hershey kiss)

Preparation

Step 1

1. Mix flour and sugar


2. Add butter and mix until coarse crumbs are formed


3. Add egg yolk and vanilla


4. Mix with fingers until dough holds together


5. Form into balls and place in refrigerator for 20 minutes


6. Using 1/2 tsp., put pieces of dough 1-inch apart on cookie sheet


7. Shape into balls with floured palms


8. Make indentation with little finger but do not pinch all the way to pan


9. Spoon garnish in the indentation


10. Bake 15-20 minutes @350
