Ingredients
- 1 lb butter
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 4 cups cake and pasty flour
- 3/4 cup sugar
- pinch baking powder

Preparation
Step 1
Cream butter and sugar together. Add cornstarch and baking powder, mix well. Add flour one cup at a time, mixing well each time. Knead for 15 minutes. Roll out onto wax paper into 8 inch rounds approximately 1/2" thick. Make two rounds. Pinch outer edge and prick with a fork.
Preheat oven to 325 F. Bake for 40 minutes but check at 35 minutes. Should be golden brown around the edge. Mark with a knife while still hot and sprinkle with sugar.
