Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa
- 1 3/4 cups milk, scalded
- 1/2 stick oleo
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 eggs, separated
- 1 9-inch baked pie shell

Step 1
Add hot milk to sugar, flour and cocoa mixture. Let thicken and add small amount to beaten egg yolks and mix into pie mixture. Add oleo and vanilla.
Pour into baked pie shell and top with beaten egg whites.
Meringue:
3 egg whites
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
6 tablespoons sugar
Beat egg whites with vanilla and cream of tartar until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar and beat until stiff.
Bake in 350 degree oven for 10-12 minutes.
