Old Fashioned Egg Custard Pie (MRS)

By

It’s like crème brulee without the sugar crust on top. Instead, maple syrup can be drizzled on top. Makes one 10 ½ inch pie.

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350. Line a 10 ½ inch pie plate with the dough and crimp the edges.

In a bowl, combine the sugar, eggs, nutmeg and vanilla and stir well. Add the milk and stir until well blended. Pour the filling into the crust and dust with nutmeg.

Bake for about 45 minutes, until firm around the edges and the custard has a Jello like consistency. Transfer to a wire rack to cool. Serve at room temperature or chilled.
