Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 cups milk
- 3 egg yolks
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 cup coconut
- deep dish pie shell

Preparation
Step 1
Bake deep dish pie shell according to directions on the package. Cool
Pour milk in 2 cup measuring cup and scald in the microwave (The milk will have a film on top)
In a double boiler add sugar, flour and salt. Slowly add the hot milk using a whisk to beat the dry ingredients so they don't lump. Cook for about 8-10 minutes in the boiler until the mixture thickens. Add 3 slightly beaten egg yolks and cook another 3 minutes. Remove from double boiler and add butter, vanilla and coconut. Cool 10 minutes and then add to a bake deep dish pie shell.
