Ingredients
- 6 T butter
- 3/4 cup chopped celery
- 1/2 cup shredded carrot
- 1 1/2 cup chopped onion
- `1/2 cup flour
- 1 t. thyme
- 1/2 t salt
- 1/4 t pepper
- 1/2 cup tomato puree
- 4 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cup chix broth
- 1 7oz gouda cheese,shredded
- 12 frozen peeled and deveined shrimp,,cooked
- 2 cans 61/2 oz clams, rinsed and drained
- 1/2 cup white wine

Step 1
melt butter in dutch oven..saute vegetables til tender, about 10 min..stir in flour and seasoning until smooth..remove from heat. stir in tomato puree. gradually stir in milk and broth. bring to boiling stirring constantly..boil and stir 1 min...reduce heat to low..stir in cheese utnil melted...do not boil...stir in shrimp and clams..heat to serving temperature..stir in wine just before serving
