Ingredients

  • 3 medium apples, pared, cored and cut into chunks (3 cups)
  • 2 medium bananas, peeled and cut into chunks (2 cups)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 cup sifted flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 9-inch unbaked pastry shell

Step 1

Combine apples, bananas and lemon juice. Let stand about 10 minutes.

Combine flour, sugars and spices. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly.

Arrange fruit in pastry shell. Sprinkle with crumb mixture. Bake in 400 degree oven for 35-40 minutes, covering top loosely with foil if it browns too quickly.
