Ingredients
- 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips, divided
- 1 (18.25-ounce) package yellow cake mix, batter mixed according to package directions

Step 1
1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line 24 muffins cups with paper baking cups.
2.In a large bowl, with an electric beater on medium speed, beat the cream cheese, sugar, and egg until creamy. Place 1/4 cup chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high power for about 30 seconds, or until melted; stir until smooth.
3.Beat melted chips into cream cheese mixture. With a spoon, stir in remaining chocolate chips and set aside. Fill baking cups two-thirds full with cake batter. Drop a heaping teaspoon of cream cheese mixture in center of batter in each cup.
4.Bake 15 to 20 minutes, or until a wooden toothpick insert in cake part comes out clean.
