Sweet and Sour Glazed Beef Kabobs

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup Coca-Cola, divided
- 1/2 pineapple juice
- 1/4 soy sauce
- 1/3 cup cider vinagar
- 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp. tomato paste
- 4 tbsp. packed dark brown sugar, divided
- 1 tbsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes
- 1 large onion
- 2 pounds boneless sirloin steak, cut into 1 1/2 inch cubes
- 2 1/2 tsp. cornstarch
- 2 - 3 tsp. chili-garlic sauce*
- Salt and pepper
- Chili-garlic sauce can be found in the Asian Foods
- section of the grocery store.

Step 1
Mix 1/2 cup Coca-Cola, pineapple juice, soy sauce, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, 2 tbsp. brown sugar, garlic powder, red pepper flakes and onion in covered container; marinate steak overnight in refrigerator.
Remove steak cubs and onion pieces form refrigerator. Reserve marinade.
Add marinade to small saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat. Spoon 2 tbsp. marinade into small bowl and stir cornstarch into hot liquid until mixture is smooth. Return liquid to pan. Stir in remaining 2 tbsp. brown sugar and chili-garlic sauce. Reduce heat to medium and simmer 15 - 18 minutes until thickened and reduced to 1 cup. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Meanwhile, place steak cubes and 6 skewers, alternating evenly with onion pices. Broil 3 minutes, turn and broil 2 minutes.
Glaze kabobs with sauce using clean pastry brush. Serve over rice, if desired
