  • 4 small flatiron steaks (6 to 7 oz each) or flank steak at room temperature
  • le oil for coating
  • 2 tsp ahchoo or chipotle chile powder
  • 1 tsp montreal steak seasoning or salt and pepper
  • 1 large or 2 small ripe avocados, flesh scooped from skin
  • 2 limes, juiced
  • 1 large clove garlic, peeled
  • 1 jalapeno chile pepper, seeded and Coarsley chopped
  • 2 tomatillos, peeled and crasley chopped
  • 1/2 small red onion, coarsely chopped
  • 2 tsp honey
  • sprinkle of sea salt
  • small handful of cilantro leaves
  • small handful of mint leaves
  • a few sprigs of tyme
  • 8 flour soft tortillas

Step 1

Preheat an outdoor grill or grill pan to medium-high, rub the steaks with oil and chile powder and steak seasoning. Grill the steaks, tented loosely with foil, turn once for 15 minutes for med-rare. Remove from heat and let it rest,

Combine the sauce ingredients in a blender or food processor and puree until almost smooth.
Grill tortillas then spread sauce and steak on nit.
