Ingredients

  • 2 cups chopped mixed vegetables (potatoes, carrots, celery, and onions)
  • I cup chopped chicken
  • Water
  • Salt and chicken flavoring to taste
  • DUMPLINGS
  • l 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/3 cup butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • Milk

Preparation

Step 1

Cook vegetables until soft. Place chicken in 3-quart saucepan and cover with water; add salt and chicken flavoring. Heat to boiling and cook until chicken is done. Add vegetables and bring back to a boil before adding dumpling dough.


Dumplings:

Combine flour, butter, salt, baking powder, and sugar. Add enough milk to make a stiff dough. Drop by spoonfuls in boiling chicken mix¬ture. Cover and reduce heat for 2O minutes without lifting lid.
