Ingredients
- 4 cups peeled, sliced peaches (I used 2 30oz can's of sliced peaches)
- 2 1/2 cups sugar, divided
- 1/2 cup water
- 12 Tbsp butter
- 2 cups self rising flour
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 tsp cinnamon, optional
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp almond flavoring, optional
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350° F
Combine peaches, 1 cup sugar, flavorings and water in a saucepan and mix well. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat.
Put the butter in a 13x9 inch baking dish and place in preheating oven to melt.
Mix remaining sugar, flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon and milk. Mix very slowly to prevent clumping, do not over mix. Pour mixture over melted butter. Do Not Stir. Spoon fruit on top, gently pouring in syrup. Batter will rise to the top during baking. Bake for 60 minutes (place baking dish on a cookie sheet as it will overflow a little as it rises). Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
