  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups sour cream
  • 1 1/2 cups thinly sliced peeled apples
  • 2 tbsp butter, 1/4 stick
  • 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

Step 1

1. Mix 1/3 cup brown sugar, pecans, cinnamon and nutmeg together. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. together. Cream 3/4 cup butter in mixer bowl until smooth.

2. Beat in sugar gradually. Beat in eggs and 1 1/2 tsp vanilla. Add flour mixture and sour cream alternately, beating well after each addition.

3. Spoon half the batter into generously buttered and floured Bundt pan. Arrange apple slices over the batter. Spoon half the brown sugar mixture over apples and press lightly into batter. Spoon remaining batter over top and sprinkle with remaining brown sugar mixture.

4. Bake at 350F for 60-70 mins or until wooden pick inserted near center comes out clean. Let stand in pan on wire rack for 15 mins. Loosen cake gently from side of pan with sharp knife Invert onto wire rack.

5. Heat 2 tbsp butter in small pan over medium heat until it begins to brown. Remove from heat. Stir in 1/3 cup brown sugar, milk and 1/2 tsp vanilla. Drizzle over warm cake.
