- 1 Gallon jar sour pickles
- 5 lbs. sugar
- 2 tbsp. pickling spices

Preparation
Step 1
Pour off 2 cups pickle juice (leaving the rest of juice in jar) and boil with 2 tbsp pickling spices in a tea ball. Let cool.
Slice pickles into desired size. Put back in jar, pour cool spice mixture back in jar with the rest of juice.
Let sit 4 or 5 days turning jar to mix each day. After 4 or 5 days drain off juice. Layer pickles and sugar alternately. Let sugar melt, turning jar daily to melt.
No needd to refrigerate or seal.
