CHERRRY WINKS

Ingredients

• 2 1/4 c. flour
• 1 tsp. baking powder
• 1/2 tsp. baking soda
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 3/4 c. shortening
• 1 c. sugar
• 2 eggs
• 2 tbsp. milk
• 1 tsp. vanilla
• 1 c. chopped pecans
• 1 c. chopped dates
• 1/2 c. maraschino cherries
• 2 1/2 c. cornflakes

Preparation

Step 1

Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt together. Combine shortening and sugar - cream well. Blend in eggs. Add milk and vanilla. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Add chopped peacans, chopped dates and maraschino cherries. Mix well. Shape into balls using a level tbsp. of dough for each. Crush cornflakes. Roll each ball in cornflakes. Place on greased cookie sheet and top each with 1/4 maraschino cheerry. Bake at 350 F for 10 - 12 minutes. DO NOT STACK OR STORE UNTIL COMPLETELY COLD.
