Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. butter, softened
  • 1/2 c. eggnog
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 egg yolks
  • Ground nutmeg for decoration

Step 1

Heat oven to 300. In med. bowl combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon & nutmeg. Mix well with wire whisk & set aside. In lg. bowl cream sugar & butter with mixer to form grainy paste. Add eggnog, vanilla & egg yolks & beat at medium speed till smooth. Add flour mixture & beat at low speed just till combined. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets, 1" apart. Sprinkle lightly with nutmeg. Bake for 23-25 minutes till bottoms turn light brown. As they cool, sprinkle with nutmeg or other additional decorations, if desired.
