  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Step 1

Mix together shortening, sugar and eggs. Sift together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Add to egg mixutre and mix well.

Roll into balls the size of small walnuts. Roll balls in mixture of 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon.

Bake on ungreased cookie sheets for 8 to 10 minutes in 400 degree oven.
