Sourdough Bread

From the Amish "Healthy Cookbook" bought at Pastors and Wives retreat. Great recipe although in the future I will double the amount of sourdough the recipe calls for.

Ingredients
- 1 C warm water
- 1 C starter **(double this)
- 2 TBS. honey
- 5-5 1/2 C flour
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 2 egg yolks
- 2 tsp. sal
- 1/4 C shortening or oil

Preparation
Step 1
Combine all ingredients, except only 1/2 C flour. Mix well. Add flour to makie a soft dough. Knead until smooth. Shape into 2 loaves in greased pans. Let rise until double. Bake at 350-400, approximately 1 hour.
