JANINE’S BAKED BEANS

*Cut this recipe in half for just the 2 of us.
*Can use real bacon bits instead of bacon
*Quick cooked beans:
Cover beans with water and bring to a boil, boil for 2 minutes, cover, take off heat and let sit for 1 hour. Drain.

Ingredients
- 1 cup dry pinto beans, soak overnight, drain
- 1 slice bacon
- 3 cups water
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 tablespoon water
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/2 cup ketchup {4oz}
- 2 oz. cider vinegar
- 105 g agave
- Lots of chopped onion
- 1/4-1/2 green pepper, chopped
- 1 teaspoon prepared mustard {5g}
- 1/2 teaspoon coarse black pepper
- 4 g Liquid smoke
- 4 g Worcestershire sauce
- 4 g molasses

Step 1
Fry bacon in saucepan until crisp, add soaked beans and 3 cups water, bring to a boil, cover and simmer 2-3 hours.
Dissolve cornstarch in a small bowl with the water. Add to the beans and stir. Add remaining ingredients, stir well, put in crock pot and cook on low several hours.
