Ingredients
- 4 lbs medium ground beef
- 2 lbs lean ground pork
- 2 medium onions, finely chopped
- 3 cloves of garlic, chopped
- 1 T savory (preferably leaves, crumbled)
- 1 t thyme
- 2 cups beef broth
- salt and pepper to taste
- double pie shell

Step 1
Method:
Mix together pork, beef, onions and seasonings. Add 2 cups beef broth and cook in large saucepan until mixture comes to a boil. Reduce heat to low and cook for 30 minutes, stirring often.
Lower heat to simmer and cook for another 20 minutes. Cool.
Place meat mixture in unbaked pie shell and cover with pie pastry. Seal and trim edges. Cut “vent holes” in top of pastry. Bake in 425˚F oven for 30 to 40 minutes.
