Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 3/4 cup baking cocoa
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs. 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans
  • 48 Rolo candies
  • 1 tbsp sugar

Step 1

1. Heat oven to 375F. Line baking sheets w/ parchment paper. In bowl, combine flours, baking cocoa, and baking soda. Mix well.

2. In lg bowl, beat sugars and butter w/ mixer, until fluffy. Add vanilla and eggs, beat well. Add flour mix and beat until combined well. Stir in 1/2 cup pecans.

3. For each cookie, w/ floured hands, shape about 1 tbsp dough around 1 Rolo candy, covering completely.
In small bowl, combine remaining pecans and 1 tbsp sugar. Press one side of each cookie ball in pecan mix.

4. Place, nut-side up on cookie sheets, 2" apart. Bake 7-10 min, or until slightly cracked. Cool.
