Ingredients
- 3 sticks unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2 2/3 cups sugar
- 1 1/3 cups brown sugar
- 4 extra-large eggs, room temperature
- 3 teapoons vanilla
- 6 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 6 cups chocolate chips (any kind you like)(three bags full)

Preparation
Step 1
Combine flour, soda, salt without sifting; set aside.
Cream butter, shortening, sugars, until light.
Beat in vanilla and eggs just until smooth
Beat dry ingredients into creamed mixture, a little at a time.
Add chocolate chips; stir
Chill dough for at least an hour(overnight is even better)
Bake on parchment
Bake at 325F for 12-14 minutes or until they look almost done. Remove parchment from sheets immediately and cool on racks completely before handling cookies individually.
