Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup egg substitute
  • 1 3/4 cups 1% milk (I used skim)
  • 1/2 cup fat-free plain yogurt (I used nonfat vanilla yogurt)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • Sugar substitute equivalent to 1/2 cup sugar (I used Splenda)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Preparation

Step 1

1. In a mixing bowl, beat egg substitute until frothy.

2. Add the milk, yogurt, and vanilla; mix well.

3. Combine the flours, sugar substitute, sugar, baking powder, and salt; stir into milk mixture just until combined.

4. Bake in a preheated waffle iron according to manufacturer's directions until golden brown.

Notes: These were great! We used skim milk and plain yogurt, and regular sugar.
