Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon water
- 3 large Granny Smith apples, sliced thin
- 12 ounces cream cheese
- 8 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 2 tablespoons vanilla
- 12 slices firm bread
- ground cinnamon to taste

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350.
Melt butter and brown sugar in a large skillet. Add water and add apples. Saute for 1 minute. On the bottom of a 9x13 pan layer butter/apple mixture.
Cut creme cheese into chunks/cubes and layer evenly over the apples.
In a large bowl beat eggs, milk and vanilla.
Layer bread slices over cream cheese/apple mixture. You may cut bread diagonally to fit pan better.
Pour egg mixture over the bread. Sprinkle with cinnamon. (You may cover with plastic wrap at this point to store in refrigerator overnight). Bake for 45 minutes.
Cool
Run knife along the sides and under the bottom and turn out onto a serving platter or just use a spatuala to serve individual pieces.
Drizzle with Maple Syrup
